“[Evergreen is] very influential, in terms of figuring out how to take the broader ideas of the progressive climate movement and turn [them] into actual laws that can be passed.”
Together, we can shape the future of climate action. Since 2020, we have been hard at work building and empowering climate policy that supports workers and families.
Evergreen is leading the fight to put bold climate action at the top of America’s agenda. We’re building the ambitious, actionable policy roadmap for an all-out mobilization to defeat climate change—and to create millions of jobs in a thriving, just, and inclusive clean energy future.
Evergreen was founded in 2020 by former Inslee for America staffers and supporters who came together with a mission to build an all-out national mobilization to defeat the climate crisis and create millions of jobs in a clean energy economy.
When Gov. Inslee left the presidential race, he made his 218-page “gold standard” policy plan into an open-source document. It became the Evergreen Action Plan, a comprehensive roadmap for that national mobilization to invest in and build both a thriving clean-energy economy that strengthens communities and a future rooted in justice and economic inclusion.
That work influenced standards and investments across the country, and shaped core components of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)—the largest climate investment in U.S. history.
Today, we combine movement partnerships with direct advocacy to deliver the greatest impact as fast as possible. We mix bold policy products with campaign-style communications and shrewd advocacy tactics. And it’s working.
Since Evergreen was founded, we have successfully influenced the U.S. climate policy landscape. We played a pivotal role in the passage and implementation of the IRA, helped set critical federal standards on pollution, and aided in major state wins like Michigan’s 2023 100% clean energy standard. Now, under the Trump administration, we are defending and advancing that progress at the federal level while helping states achieve bold climate progress that is good for workers and families.
Though the challenges are immense, our work to build a thriving, just, and affordable clean energy future is just getting started. We hope you’ll join us.
