In response to Abdul El-Sayed’s historic win to be the next U.S. Senator from Michigan, Evergreen Action Federal Affairs Director Dani Hupper released the following statement:
“Energy affordability was on the ballot in Michigan, and voters just told Big Tech and monopoly utilities that their free ride on families’ bills is over. By sending Abdul El-Sayed to the U.S. Senate, Michiganders sent a message the rest of the country should hear: voters want leaders who will lower energy costs and hold utilities and data centers accountable for driving up their bills.
“Families in Michigan and across the country are facing exorbitant costs for basic necessities, and they need leaders who put them first, not the massive corporations profiting off them. We congratulate Senator-elect El-Sayed on his historic win and look forward to working together to pass the cheap, clean energy policies that will drive down bills for families everywhere.”
