Wes Gobar

Wes Gobar is a communications and policy assistant for Evergreen. He previously served as a confidential assistant and executive aide to Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring. Wes has also worked as a field organizer for the VA Democratic Party during the 2018 midterms and as Governor's fellow in the Virginia Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. He interned with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation for Rep. Donald McEachin and was a public history intern with the National Park Service. Wes is a native of Fredericksburg, Virginia and a 2018 graduate of the University of Virginia, where he studied History and Government. His interest in advocacy began in Charlottesville as a racial justice student organizer at UVA. Wes's writing has been published in Vox, the New York Times, and the Washington Post
