  • Evergreen Statement on Gov. Whitmer’s Final State of the State Address

    Feb 25, 2026

Following Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s State of the State address, Evergreen Action State Advocacy Director Courtney Brady released the following statement:

“Governor Whitmer proved that being a clean energy leader and economic growth go hand in hand in Michigan. From championing a 100 percent clean energy standard and securing historic investments in public transit, she laid the foundation for a more resilient, reliable energy system that Michigan families can afford. Her administration’s landmark energy project siting reforms cut unnecessary red tape and sped up clean energy projects that are already reducing bills and bringing new jobs to communities across the state.

“In the final chapter of her term, she has remained focused on advancing strong housing policies that will expand supply and improve affordability for working families. Because of her leadership, Michigan is firmly positioned as a climate leader and an engine of innovation. The progress she set in motion will continue to strengthen the economy, cut costs for families, and shape Michigan’s future long after she leaves office.”
