In response to the Pennsylvania House’s passage of House Bill 1834 to protect Pennsylvania ratepayers from rising energy costs driven by data center demand, Evergreen Action Director of Strategic Initiatives for States Julia Kortrey released the following statement:
“Pennsylvanians shouldn’t have to bear the weight of Big Tech’s speculative data center boom. This bill contains commonsense protections that will shield ratepayers from data center costs and help deploy more cheap clean energy to strengthen the grid and keep up with demand. Ratepayers are demanding action to curb rising energy costs and today the PA House answered the call. The Senate should follow their lead and advance this bill without delay.”
