Evergreen Welcomes Samah Shaiq as National Press Secretary

Today, Evergreen Action announced that Samah Shaiq has joined the organization as National Press Secretary. Samah will lead federal communications planning and execution for Evergreen’s work to hold the Trump administration accountable for rising energy costs, defend against efforts to roll back climate progress, and advance ambitious clean energy policy across the country.

“Samah brings the extensive expertise in strategic communications that we need to help support Evergreen’s mission to protect hard-won climate progress and create the just and thriving clean energy economy we know is possible,” said Evergreen Federal Affairs Director Dani Hupper. “At a time when national climate progress is under attack, Samah’s experience leading communications at the federal level will be instrumental in helping Evergreen convey what’s at stake to people across the country.”

We have a clear opportunity to show the American people that the rising energy costs are not inevitable,” said Evergreen National Press Secretary Samah Shaiq. “Energy affordability can be achieved through clean energy solutions that have proven to lower costs for families, businesses, and communities. I am excited to join Evergreen in this fight to advance bold climate policies that will benefit our economy and generations to come.”

Samah comes to Evergreen most recently from a political communications firm, where she developed and executed strategic communications for environmental organizations, helping them navigate media landscapes to achieve their bold policy ambitions. Prior to that, Samah served as Deputy Press Secretary for the U.S. Department of Energy under the Biden-Harris Administration and in the office of former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
