In response to Minnesota voters electing Amy Klobuchar as governor, reelecting Keith Ellison as attorney general, and electing DFL majorities in both legislative chambers, Evergreen Action Vice President of Policy Pete Wyckoff released the following statement:
“Minnesota voters just handed DFL leaders the keys to finish what they started. The last DFL trifecta passed a law requiring 100% clean electricity by 2040, relaunched a nation-leading community solar program, expanded the state’s Solar for Schools and Solar on Public Buildings programs, helped Minnesotans and school districts go electric with incentives for EVs and electric school buses, started a green bank, and passed permitting reform. Now, Governor-elect Klobuchar and legislative leaders can build on that record with cap-and-invest, smarter use of the existing grid, and real utility reform that will ‘hold the line’ on bills.
“We also congratulate Attorney General Keith Ellison on his reelection. When the Trump administration tried to strip blue states of federal clean energy investments, Ellison joined fellow attorneys general to defend Minnesota’s plans in court and protect the jobs and savings those investments were built to deliver. We look forward to working with Governor-elect Klobuchar, Attorney General Ellison, and legislative leaders to build an energy system worthy of Minnesota’s ambition: affordable, dependable, and built to last.”
