  • Wisconsin Voters Deliver Democratic Trifecta and a Mandate for Lower Energy Bills

    Nov 4, 2026

In response to Wisconsin voters electing David Crowley as governor and Democratic majorities in both the Assembly and Senate, Evergreen Action Midwest Advocate Lauren Reeg released the following statement:

“Wisconsin voters just delivered a historic mandate for lower energy bills. By electing David Crowley and giving Democrats majorities in both the Assembly and Senate, voters chose leaders who will tackle rising energy costs head-on. This is a victory for every household, small business, and farm that has felt squeezed by soaring power bills.

“Voters were clear about who should pay for Wisconsin’s surging power demand, and it’s not everyday customers. Now, with a Democratic trifecta, Wisconsin has the power to turn that mandate into policy. That means requiring data centers to cover the costs they create, holding monopoly utilities accountable for unnecessary, profit-driven rate hikes, and building more of the solar, wind, and storage that shield households from volatile, costly oil and gas. We’re ready to work with Governor-elect Crowley and legislators to deliver lower bills, starting with urgent action to protect families from data center costs.”
