DOE’s Battery Manufacturing Grants Will Help Drive a New Era of US Clean Manufacturing

In response to The Department of Energy’s (DOE) announcement today of its battery manufacturing grantees in 12 states nationwide, Evergreen Action Executive Director Jamal Raad released the following statement:

“We are at the dawn of a new era in American-made clean energy. DOE’s battery manufacturing grants are a game-changing tool to boost America’s clean manufacturing that will create 8,000 new good-paying clean energy jobs while driving billions in investments across 12 states. There’s no doubt about it, we are in an unprecedented moment for climate. Now we must stay the course and maximize the impact of funding from IIJA and the IRA to ensure these resources go to the communities that need them most and drive the biggest decrease in climate-warming pollution. Investments in clean energy infrastructure and manufacturing must be the foundation for a future of climate action, jobs, and environmental justice for all.”
