Today, Evergreen Action announced that Miles Cunning has joined the organization as Regional Press Secretary for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Miles will lead communications planning and execution for Evergreen’s work to advance ambitious clean energy policy and drive meaningful climate progress across key states in the region, including New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland.
“Miles brings a wealth of strategic communications and campaign experience we need to help advance state-level clean energy and climate progress across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic,” said Evergreen Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regional Director Eric Miller. “His background in leading communications within state government has provided him with invaluable experience in making complex policy accessible for a wide audience. His regional media relationships and strategic insights make him ideally suited to lead this work and help us drive real progress in fighting the climate crisis and tackling energy affordability in some of the most consequential states in the country.”
“State climate and clean energy policy has never mattered more than it does right now, and I’m thrilled to join Evergreen at such a critical moment,” said Evergreen Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regional Press Secretary Miles Cunning. “Tackling the climate crisis and energy affordability calls for bold action, and I’m proud to bring my experience to help build that case for the transformative policies Evergreen is advancing in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.”
Miles is an experienced communications strategist who has led press relations and messaging programs in the government and political sectors. He comes to Evergreen most recently from the consulting space, where he supported campaign messaging across a variety of platforms, including direct mail and SMS. In this work, he supported campaigns from town boards to Congress.
Previously, Miles served as Communications Director for a New Hampshire gubernatorial candidate and as Communications Director and Campaign Manager for New York State Senator Jeremy Cooney in Rochester, New York. He began his career in public service as Aide to Monroe County Executive Adam Bello.
