Today, Evergreen Action announced that Eric Miller has joined the organization as Regional Director for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Eric will lead Evergreen’s work to advance ambitious clean energy policy and drive meaningful climate progress across key states in the region, including New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland.
“Eric brings exactly the combination of inside-government experience and advocacy expertise we need to advance state-level clean energy and climate progress in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic,” said Evergreen Vice President for States Justin Balik. “Having led New Jersey’s climate and energy portfolio in Governor Murphy’s administration, Eric knows firsthand what it takes to move good policy through the complex terrain of state government. His depth of experience, regional relationships, and strategic insights make him ideally suited to lead this work and help us drive real progress in fighting the climate crisis and tackling energy affordability in some of the most consequential states in the country.”
“I’m honored to join Evergreen at such a pivotal moment for state climate and clean energy policy,” said Evergreen Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regional Director Eric Miller. “States like New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland have an enormous opportunity—and responsibility—to lead on climate action and address the energy affordability crisis. I’ve seen from the inside how transformative the right policies can be, and I’m thrilled to bring that experience to Evergreen in helping states across the region seize this moment and deliver real solutions for families.”
Eric is a seasoned environmental advocate and policy expert with more than a decade of experience advancing ambitious climate policy both inside and outside of government. He comes to Evergreen most recently from former New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s administration, where he served as the Executive Director of the governor’s Office of Climate Action and the Green Economy. Eric oversaw New Jersey’s environment and energy portfolio, including wholesale market issues, clean energy deployment, building and transportation electrification, and a host of other issues.
Before joining the Murphy administration, Eric served as a senior advocate at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) as well as policy counsel to the Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance. Eric holds a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Resource Economics from the University of Connecticut.
