Trump’s Latest Gift to Big Tech: A New Way To Dodge Data Center Scrutiny

In response to a proposal by the Trump administration to limit the public’s ability to learn about and weigh in on air pollution from data centers being built in their communities, Evergreen Action Federal Affairs Director Dani Hupper released the following statement:

“As communities across the country demand more transparency from Big Tech on proposed data centers, the Trump administration is working overtime to help the president’s allies avoid scrutiny on these massive projects. Trump wants to give data centers a free pass to hide their pollution, strain the grid, and stick families with the bill. 

“Communities should have a say in projects that threaten to bring dangerous air pollution and massive energy consumption to their back yard. But this administration is going out of its way to cut the public out of the process.”
